Applications are invited for the following civilian post of:
Records Management Officer
Salary range: CI$53,616.00 to CI$70,344.00 per annum

 

Preference will be given to suitably qualified and experienced Caymanians

The post holder will assist in managing records across the Office of the Commissioner of Police (OCP), including RCIPS and CICG, in compliance with the National Archives and Public Records Act (2015 Revision) and the Freedom of Information Act (2017). Support the development of retention schedules, ensure best practices for records handling, and advise units on compliance with relevant legislation. Liaise with the National Archives and the Office of the Ombudsman, and serve as the primary point of contact for records management within the OCP.

 

Principal responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Records Management: Collaborate with various units to ensure accurate, up-to-date retention schedules and secure destruction of outdated documentation in compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Guidance & Training: Develop user-friendly guides and documentation, provide training to staff, and stay updated on legislative and best practice developments.
  • Support: Assist with information governance tasks, including data protection, Freedom of Information requests, and legislative compliance.

 

Knowledge, Education & Work Experience:

The post holder should possess:

  • Diploma in Records and Information Management or related discipline.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Records Management, Information Management, Information Governance, or equivalent would be preferable.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience working directly in records management, including a good working knowledge of Information Governance, Information Management, and Records Management principles.
  • High level of personal skills is required to work across diverse team settings.
  • Proven ability to work in a highly sensitive and confidential environment and maintain strict confidentiality when dealing with RCIPS & CICG records.

 

Benefits will be determined in accordance with the Public Service Management Act (2018 Revision) and Personnel Regulations (2025 Revision), and the CINICO Health Plan for Civil Servants (as may be amended from time to time).
