FINANCIAL MANAGER

 

The Financial Manager, together with the General Director and the Education Di-rector, forms the Executive Central Management Team (CMT).

 

Duties & responsibilities:

Internal: Reports to the Supervisory Board and represents the Board in financial-related matters.

Manage all aspects pertaining to financial-related issues of the organization.

Maintains frequent contact with the other CMT members. MPC and Sundial’s operational management, and all staff members.

External: Minister and Ministry of Education, Minister, and Ministry of Finance, other Government instances, suppliers, other financial institutions, Educational Institutions, other school boards, legal advisors, patrons, consultants, auditors, and Labor unions.

 

Purpose:

To initiate, implement and manage effective risk management-, finance administration, and control policies & procedures, and ensuring effective policy integration with other core functions for the optimum realization of SOBE’s operational and strategic objectives. To plan, present, and execute short-, mid-, and long-term sound financial management practices.

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Advise and assist the Supervisory Board in developing and implementing the organization’s Strategic Plan, namely in the arca of Finance & Audit
  • Manages the Finances within the framework of SVOBE’s statutory regulations and the Corporate Governance Code.
  • Prepare and present, in a timely manner, the annual budget, quarterly reports, and financial statements.
  • Proactively advise the Board on all aspects with Financial implications, relevant to the organization in general.
  • Provide guidance and advice to non-financial personnel, in leadership roles, on cost control best practices.
  • Develop and implement integrated financial policies and procedures, throughout the organization and ensure that they are adhered to.
  • Develop and implement an Enterprise Risk Management policy.
  • Analyze and advise the Board on the organization’s liabilities and investments.
  • Decides on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks.
  • Controls and evaluates the Organization’s fundraising plans and capital struc-ture.
  • Ensures that cash flow is appropriate for the Organization’s operations;
  • Directs and manages the short, medium, and long-term planning, administra-tion, control, and reporting of the company’s financial resources. Monitors the progression of the planning, analyzes deviations, and advise on measures.
  • Manages vendor relationships.
  • Advises on the fiscal policy and takes care of handling the company’s fiscal responsibilities.
  • Prepares reliable current and forecasting reports.
  • Maintains business relationships with local and international companies and organizations and institutions in the representation of the SVOBE’s interests.
  • Conduct financial negotiations whit third parties.
  • Analyzes and provides advice on financial and economic benefits and risks of management plans, decisions, and investments.

Function Requirements:

  • Educational level: HBO/Academic in Finance
    • Supplementary training:
    • management,
    • corporate governance code,
    • relevant laws and regulations
    • communication and reporting
  • Experience: 8 years in finance (accounting) of which 3 years in a Managerial/ Executive position
  • oral and written command of English and Dutch
  • Computer skills
  • Approachable, a high sense of integrity, team player
